Cystoscopy
Cystoscopy is a test used in urology, allowing for a quick assessment of the urethra and bladder.
The examination at the FLOSMED clinic is performed by urologists: dr Jerzy Topczewski and dr Tomasz Kuśmierski.
This examination makes it possible to assess the urethra and bladder, to exclude the presence of a neoplastic lesion in the bladder or to identify other abnormalities of the urinary system.
- persistent hematuria
- frequent urinary tract infections
- pain when urinating
- the presence of congenital bladder defects
During the examination, patients feel discomfort, but thanks to the use of modern equipment, pain during cystoscopy is now minimized. The patient is prepared for the procedure by local anesthesia and the use of a special anesthetic gel applied to the tip of the cystoscope.
Detailed recommendations will be provided to you by the doctor referring you for cystoscopy. Always before performing the test, you should take care of the hygiene of the urinary tract and urinate, so that the assessment of the bladder is as effective as possible.
