Ultrasound of Hips

An ultrasound of the hips is performed for a possible diagnosis of hip dysplasia, one of the most severe birth defects

Dr. Piotr Harasymczuk, MD

Dr. n.med. Piotr Harasymczuk conducts consultations in the field of general and children's orthopedics. He performs an ultrasound of the hips, which is a very crucial examination that should be performed after the birth of the child. The examination does not require any special preparation. Immediately after its completion, you get the result. The child's hip joint is assessed on the Graf scale, where I means healthy joints, and IV means severe dysplastic changes.

Ultrasound of the hips (preluxation) is one of the most important examinations carried out in the early stages of a child's development.

The examination allows for the detection of possible congenital and developmental defects of the hip joints in children. Early detection of hip joint defects enables full recovery.

It is important that the first examination be performed no later than 4 weeks of the child's life, and third and sixth month child's life.

The preluxation examination takes a few minutes, is completely painless and consists of two stages: an orthopedic examination performed by a doctor and an ultrasound examination.

IN FLOSMED HIPS ultrasound performed by an experienced specialist in orthopedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system, Piotr Harasymczuk, MD, PhD. The test result obtained in our clinic will also allow you to immediately consult you on further proceedings in the event of irregularities.
